This is a real headstone in a Montreal cemetery. The epitaph was ordered by John’s ex-wife and mistress. It wasn’t until the job was finished that the engraver noticed something unusual about the message. A bona fide acrostic!

I saw another in a brief flash on a TV news show. Some vandal(s) had overturned headstones at a Denver cemetary, and the camera person had shot one with the acrostic “WIMP” running down the left side. It was gone in a flash, but I know what I saw. I wonder how many are out there, now that we know what to look for?
