Clause and Effect

Last month, the Supreme Court agreed to consider a case that struck down Washington’s strict gun ordinance as a violation of the Second Amendment’s “right to keep and bear arms.” This will be the first time in nearly 70 years that the court has considered the Second Amendment:

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
