So here we are. August 11th, 2007. A huge day of closure. With the papers signed a few weeks ago, her movers came in this morning and took what’s no longer legally mine. It’s actually an incredibly cleansing feeling, albeit somewhat inconvenient for the time-being. Example: I never really knew how much I used the dining table until this afternoon after the beach. I suddenly realized that I no longer had a place to stockpile unopened mail on the way to the fridge.
There’s some inventory I need to take in both directions. First, I need to sit down and document what’s gone, and second, I need to make myself a shopping list to replace the departed items. So here we go:
THINGS SHE TOOK
1. The MINI Cooper
2. The house computer and speakers
3. The dining table and chairs
4. The armoire
5. The Stickley rocking chair and Oriental rug
6. The guest bed and dresser
7. A couple wall mirrors and the framed “Master Bedroom” poster
8. “Kona” and “Fibonacci Sunshine”
9. Garden tools, the ladder, and the croquet set
10. The Tiffany lamp
THINGS I NEED TO GET
1. A Lexus
2. A MacBook Pro and an Airport Extreme rig
3. A poker table
4. A tiki bar and stools
5. A red leather cigar chair with matching ottoman
6. Lumber and drywall for my new remodel
7. A couple Sierra Nevada neon wall mirrors and a dartboard
8. Two blank canvases
9. A backyard deck, a saltwater jacuzzi with waterfall, and a new glass bong
10. A stripper pole
For list #2, don’t forget a martini shaker, you swingin’ bachelor.
So long as you don’t ‘cover charge’ I’m there.
i’ll be in hawaii sept 6 – 15 and i’ll bring back a hula girl to test out the stripper pole. everything you NEED, you already HAVE. xoxo
mini’s are played out anyway…its all about the jacuzzi parties!!
She REALLY wanted the tiffany lamp? …weird.
This all seems like good news to me, Jace. I wish someone would come in here and clear out the piles of crap my ex calls her belongings.
You have closure, which is what I long for. I am envious.
Interesting what a few years of perspective does for a guy.
