The Greatest American Hero: WHEN?

The Greatest American Hero: WHEN?

In a day and age of tribute bands, reunion tours, and especially full-blown feature film remakes of classic TV shows, it can be easy to criticize the sad lack of original ideas out there. Fortunately we have the choice to just let it go, sit back, and have fun with things.

That said, I’d like to see “The Greatest American Hero” done on the big screen. I hereby nominate Owen Wilson for the lead role of Ralph Hinkley, the high school teacher who was given a red flying suit by aliens during a field trip to the desert. If you’ve never seen the show, the suit came without an understandable user’s manual. Ralph had to wing it, and wackiness ensued.

This movie needs to happen. I believe it will. Hollywood, you have my permission to take the idea and run with it. I’ll even buy a ticket!

Believe it or not,
I’m walking on air!
I never thought I could feel so free!
Flying away on a wing and a prayer!
Who could it be?
Believe it or not,
It’s just me!

I second the nomination! Owen would be perfect! I can see him now…crash landing in an alley atop of trash cans!

What do you think of this lineup for the new movie?

Not sure if I can do better than that.

I might consider Fiddy Cent for Bill though. Seeing that Herve Villechaize is no longer with us.
