While at Smithsonian’s Museum of Modern Art in D.C. a couple years ago, I must’ve stood and stared at this painting for 20 minutes.

It’s not a photograph. Paint was applied using fingertips. Amazing. I can’t remember the artist’s name, but it’s probably googlable.

Pix from a friend who was at the game. Yanks won over KC 9-7.

How on Earth can that phrase make sense? Hmm…

A really cool piece I saw in a museum off the beaten path in Washington D.C., 2004. It’s made entirely of toys and other small objects. Buttons, yo-yos, doll parts, etc. Love the dart touch.

I wish I could remember the artist’s name.

Another day at nearby Sunken City, right down the street here in our stomping grounds at the southern tip of San Pedro. The legendary spot’s located where Pacific Avenue ends at Paseo Del Mar near Point Fermin across from Angels Gate.

It’s one of my favorite places to unplug, go inward, and enjoy simultaneous views of the Los Angeles harbor, Catalina Island, and unbelievable sunsets. Lots of quiet energy here. The whole place oozes a history of beer parties, fights, falling accidents, and suicides.

In 1929, this large piece of urban land started slipping into the sea, eventually resting in the mid thirties. Another dude’s posted a nice batch of photos on Flickr.
