“If you think about it.”
This is one of those phrases that, if you think about it, is based on some sort of conditional reality. If this, then that. We apply it to statements like, “If you think about it, the timing is right,” or “If you think about it, it’s a pretty good deal.”
But here’s the thing: What if I don’t think about it? Would the timing be bad? If I don’t think about it, would it then actually be a bad deal?
