“Why not upset the apple cart? If you don’t, the apples will rot anyway.”

Happy 08/08/07. Something tells me that this day next year’s gonna be a significant one. I can feel it. =more info=
Asperger syndrome is loosely defined as an obsessive attention to detail, uncontrollable tendencies toward pattern recognition, and miscellaneous social impairments. It’s a condition on the autistic spectrum, manifesting itself on a person in both positive and negative ways.
Some geek has converted an Asperger syndrome test to the Web using PHP and JavaScript. Check it out here.
I scored a 27. I’m guessing that’s waaaay lower than it would’ve been had I done it last year.
“Tactics is knowing what to do when there is something to do; strategy is knowing what to do when there is nothing to do.”
— Savielly Tartakower
So true, and not just in chess. Small picture and big picture. Translated: Tactics is about identifying opportunity and exploiting it; strategy is about creating opportunity for exploitation. Without tactical sensibilities, strategy is purposeless; without strategy, tactical opportunities are left to luck and coincidence.
Tactics and strategy. Get good at both.
