Disney songwriter Robert B. Sherman has died at 86. His compositions include the classics “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” and “It’s a Small World After All”.
Via YouTube, here’s a complete video ride-thru of Small World. My first favorite ride at Disneyland.
Dear Kony, my Very Shining Bear,
I can’t believe it’s been a whole year since you left. A hell of a year at that. I think you’d be proud of us.
I took a picture of your pawprint the other night. Remember that day? It was in 2004. You kept wiggling, and I had to put you in a headlock. You were so pissed about the whole thing, all that cold paint between your toes, but you hung in there like a trooper. It’s another memory I have that’s getting sweeter with time.
Miss you something fierce. Think about you every day. I wish I had more recordings of your beautiful bark. See you this afternoon.

A Saturday afternoon jam by my funk soul brother LA poet/spoken-word artist Rich Ferguson.
Another killer piece of Rich’s is featured in the recently released book ‘The Moment‘. I believe I make a cameo appearance as well.
