A cool collection of video and stills from movie title sequences of Saul Bass.
“For the average audience, the credits tell them there’s only three minutes left to eat popcorn. I take this ‘dead’ period and try to do more than simply get rid of names that filmgoers aren’t interested in. I aim to set up the audience for what’s coming; make them expectant.” — Saul Bass

Here’s an outstanding conversation between Joanna Penn and Larry Brooks. Larry’s written a book called Story Engineering, and runs a blog for writers called Storyfix.
While I’ve not yet read Story Engineering, I’m a big fan of Larry’s sensibilities. Grab a drink and sit down with this video for the next half hour. This dude knows his stuff, and has a unique way of explaining the storytelling craft in physical terms. Perfect for people who struggle with abstract concepts, while also having something to say to right-brained people who thumb their nose at structure.
