Honored to have created the book trailer for 8th & Agony, the new book of poetry by spoken word artist Rich Ferguson. A clinic in lyrical witchery. You’ll love it. Now available at Amazon.
PS: Need a trailer of your own? Hit me up. I can use the work.
Headed over to the Norwood the other night to check out GrandStand Jam. After bandleader Styxxx graciously announced the release of Under Angels, they got me up on the drum kit for a couple songs. Guitarist Romeo Maxx led my set; we started with a slow blues number, then funked it up.
Uh-oh. I recently discovered some isolated guitar tracks on YouTube, allowing me to jam along with some favorite classic tunes (minus drums) on a practice pad. Drum karaoke, if you will.
Here’s a site that’s pulling isolated tracks from the past fifty years and dumping htem into one centralized location. From Elvis to the Beatles to Deep Purple to Metallica to the Smashing Pumpkins to the White Stripes, it’s particularly fun for drummers looking for a solo workout: Studio Multitracks.
Looks like I picked the perfect week to set up my drumKAT.
OMG this is the coolest thing I’ve heard all year. It’ll dawn on you at about :26. Watch the screen.
That forward version is in fact the way it was recorded. What went to print was a backmasked version of that. It’d have been cool to put the forward piece at the very end of the record, bookending the whole album with a palindrome. If only they’d only known about iTunes…
