Dad is finally home

At last, an update on my family’s encounter with the West Nile virus. It all began on October 13, 2014, after my old man got bitten by a mosquito.

After nearly four months of being holed up in a hospital room without feeling sunlight on his face, arrangements have been made for Pop to resume rehabilitation in the comfort of his own home, surrounded by those who love him.

He’s still paralyzed and on a breathing ventilator and feeding tube. Long road ahead. But at least he’ll be more comfortable. Special thanks to the hospital personnel who have looked after him thus far, and extra-special thanks to local family and friends who have committed to take over from here.

Can’t wait to see him this weekend.
