Certs Commercial
November 8th, 2005 — Commercials, Trivia
Retsyn. Did any of us really believe in this marketing nonsense? Did any of us even know it wasn’t spelled Retzin? Did any of us even care?
From wikipedia.org:
Retsyn is a Warner-Lambert Company trademark for the active ingredient in Certs, Cool Mint Drops, and Certs Power Mints. Retsyn consists of a combination of copper gluconate and hydrogenated cottonseed oil.
According to a Pfizer FAQ Page, it is Retsyn, in addition to the flavor, which is responsible for the efficacy of CERTS against breath odors. The hydrogenated vegetable oil and the copper gluconate absorb odors in the mouth.
Is it just me or is that Monica Lewinsky before she packed on the ’90s poundage?

An 8-bit color video game for the Atari 2600 which tapped into a role-playing vibe. The first of its kind in a time of shoot ‘em up staples like Asteroids and Missile Command, paving the way for countless others. Hop over the cobra. Cross the swamp via alligator heads. Get the chalice!

Remember the 80s commercial with the healthy young adults in their recreational vehicles hitting the beach to shed their t-shirts and get in some waterskiing before the sun went down?
Get your skis shined up
Grab a stick of Juicy Fruit
The taste is gonna move ya
Take a sniff
Pull it out
The taste is gonna move ya when you pop it in your mouth
Juicy Fruit
It’s gonna move ya
It’s got a taste that gets right to ya

*Listen closely to the lyric in the jingle. This recording seems to be different than the one I remember; its lyrics deviate slightly from the ones above. Did they perhaps record a couple versions?
