Grampa Cecil was a gadgety guy. When we had our Albao reunion on Kauai in 1983, he had a tape recorder with him the whole time.
Here’s an excerpt from the recorded hour of arrival, which happened to be 22 years ago today. This clip captures us running into Uncle Eddie. It’s amazing. Hearing Uncle Eddie’s oh-so-familiar voice greet me in the manner only he could sends a chill down my spine. You can hear his playful sense of humor; seems he had a joke for everything. It also reminds us of his fondness for Aloha shirts, which I’m beginning to realize now that I inherit from him.
I miss those guys.
