Bienvenido Gustavo! Checking out Gustavo Dudamel and the LA Philarmonic, Hollywood Bowl, 10.03.2009, the final night of the 2009 Bowl season.
Prior to the LA Phil closing the evening with Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, the evening included appearances and performances by John Williams, Herbie Hancock, Jack Black, Andy Garcia, and Flea. With some fireworks for good measure.
The highlight may have been when Gustavo came out to conduct the young children of the LA School of Arts as they performed their chosen excerpt from the 9th, Ode to Joy. Tear-jerking.
