Under Angels

It started on the organ’s cue. Pete stood groping it in his pocket, still warm, delivered under his door that morning. Her letter. Two words: CAN’T WAIT. The small crowd of witnesses stood politely for a piece of forever as she walked the final steps with her father, fiery locks ushering eyes of ice behind a steaming white veil. She winked. Pete couldn’t hold back his smile. He saw her laugh silently.
It all felt like a dream, and it smelled like roses.
