Our Side of the Mountain

our side of palos verdes

Palos Verdes, once a.k.a. “San Pedro Hill”, taken from a bluff on the southeast. PV’s the hill in Los Angeles with the golf ball on top. It’s a peninsula; the elbow you see jutting out on the L.A. map. It’s about 50% surrounded by water, extending from Redondo Beach on the north to San Pedro in the southeast.

The golf ball (there are actually two of them) is the the LAX radar station that monitors all flights in the Los Angeles airspace.

Directly on the other side of that hill would be Redondo and the rest of the South Bay.
